Home Buying in Historic Haymarket, VA

In 1799, the VA General Assembly chartered the Town of Haymarket, VA on the land of William Skinker, consisting of 140 lots and 13 streets. Haymarket was selected as the site for a new District Court to serve counties in Fairfax, Loudoun, Fauquier and Prince William. In 1862 during the civil war, the town was set ablaze by Federal troops and only four building survived the fire and still remain today. Historic markers still stand at the intersection of Fayette and Washington Street.

Today, Haymarket is an expanding hub of business, homes and development and a great place to raise children.
